Much Needed Break

To say that it has been a while would be an understatement. I took a good healthy break. Coming off 2019 and going into 2020 I realized that I was working way too hard and it was affecting my health. While I was already dealing with an ongoing issue with my sinuses, adding the extra stress from taking photos and my full time job it felt like the best thing to do. Mentally I could not focus or inspire myself to take photos or create. I needed a bit more time to figure out just want I wanted to do with this new hobby of mine.

The early months of the year it seemed that it was shaping up to be good. Started with some bad news but I am usually the optimistic one, so I was not worried. I planned on coming back closer to April and taking on a few local events while doing a few personal projects for my friends and family. I was excited for the future and then COVID-19 hit. I was fortunate, took my parents advice and saved money. So luckily, I did not have too my financial troubles. I really needed to adjust to my new lifestyle of being at home all the time.

Since I was home all the time now, I had a bit of time to figure out how I wanted to make more content. I still was not using my cameras or doing projects. Instead I was actively brainstorming or as some would call it being lazy. Sitting on the couch all day ordering packages from Amazon and playing video games. I had a lot of time to think. I was a bit stuck but knew that motivation was needed. I had to throw myself back into it. Being anxiously stressed about whether I could still take photos. Hence vacation in South Carolina.

So yeah healthy break. Took a road trip down to Myrtle Beach with my girlfriend to get away from the stress of the COVID-19 crisis. To sum up the trip, it was much needed for both of us. Being able to see life from a different perspective helped with the cabin fever. As for the photos that I took. They were not the best or even close to some of the best that I have taken by far. I could tell from editing them that I was rusty. I have relied on VR (vibration reduction) a bit too much for some of my shots from further out. Also over edited a lot of photos for sure. It feels good to be back to doing it though.
