Roxbury Day

Late in September, my grandmother let me know about an event going on in the community I grew up in. I spent the day with some amazing people and learned a bit of history about the neighborhood Roxbury. This was a great event for me to come out to and support. I was able to meet a lot of people and see a few familiar faces.

Coming into this I was reminded about what I loved about being raised here. I also realized that I have lost my sense of community. Moving to Dorchester when I was about 12-13 I just completely lost touch. So when my grandmother asked me to come out and take some photos for the event I thought it would be good to get some practice covering events. The entire experience was great.

I was able to network with new people and stretch the business out. I wish I grabbed my business cards, but it was a learning experience. The pictures came out great. I honestly took way more than I should have. I was also able to test out a new lens that I had just picked up. Which by the way is freaking awesome. As well as learn how to get more involved with the people and issues around me.
